The Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) Core Facility of the Yale Stem Cell Center is a satellite of the Yale School of Medicine Cell Sorter Facility, which is directed by Dr. Ann Haberman.. The FACS Core has two locations in the Amistad Building - room 105 houses a BD FACSCalibur and room 416 houses a BD Aria cell sorter and BD LSRII analyzer, where they are readily accessible to

Samples are prepared by individual investigators, who then deliver samples to the core for flow cytometric analysis or cell sorting. The FACS Core Facility has two state of the art cell sorters FACSAria III. As much as four different cell populations can be sorted simultaneously, and cells can either be sorted onto slides, into tubes (1-15 ml) or plates (6-384 wells). In addition, we have a LSRFortessa, a NovoCyte and a Quanteon analyser which can perform multi-parameter flow cytometric analysis. The FACS Facility at BRIC is a state-of-the-art multi-colour flow cytometry facilitymulti-colour flow cytometry facility, and we serve all research groups at BRIC, Finsen Lab, Bartholin Institute and others. Michigan Research Cores explores the many services, equipment, and instrumentation that University of Michigan core facilities have to offer. The Flow Cytometry Core Facility was established in 1981. It then consisted of one tiny room within the tissue culture facility which housed a BD FACS II sorter. Today the Core houses seven cell sorters and seven analyzers as well as an Amnis FlowSight imaging cytometer and a Fluidigm C1. 5.11 Set up appointment with FACS Core (7-3216) well in advance (one week if possible).
